ASIC PHYSICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
ASIC physical design (place and route) engineer will establish physical design capability. You will be responsible for running the entire suite of tools, from floorplanning to place and route, clock-tree synthesis, parasitic extraction and physical verification. You will develop custom scripts and overlays for the tools to work within the physical design flow, as well as creating and executing the entire physical design flow and methodology. You will work with front end design teams to ensure seamless handoff, and may evaluate tools for future use.

Required:� BSEE or equivalent with 7+ years experience and strong background with industry standard tools from vendors such as Avanti, Synopsys, Cadence, Magma, etc. Thorough understanding of DSM effects, floorplanning, timing driven layout, clock tree synthesis and optimization a must. Background in high-speed ASIC design for data communications, preferably networking specific, required.

COMPUTER SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Extensive theoretical and practical understanding of algorithms and techniques as applicable to pattern set recognition. Knowledge of optical fiber communication theory, error correction codes, and information theory as applicable to media and physical layer characterization. Expertise in analysis of feedback and tracking loops in the context of digital communications and digital signal processing. Experience managing and working with large sets of data and extracting essential information. Experience with modeling projects, including designing & implementing techniques to show critical behavior at boundary conditions under short & long term duration. Significant experience in UNIX environment, including troubleshooting, debugging, and scripting.

Required: M.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering required (Ph.D strongly preferred). Strong C++ and object oriented programming skills required. Thorough knowledge of UNIX, C++, Bourne/C Shell and perl scripting, HTML, Java, and GUI required. Demonstrated initiative in solving complex problems, including creation of tools to achieve the end result. Demonstrated independent worker, with ability to self-start and achieve creative solutions. Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
